The case for it
The one that gets people in the water.
Every cold plunge range needs a bottom rung, and it should not be an apology. The Alpine is drop-stitch PVC construction — the same method used in high-pressure inflatable boards, where thousands of internal threads hold two surfaces at a fixed distance so the inflated wall goes rigid rather than spongy. It holds its shape with a person in it.
Before you buy — safety
Heat and cold immersion are not suitable for everyone. Do not use if you have a cardiac condition, uncontrolled blood pressure, a seizure history, a respiratory condition, or are pregnant. Check with your doctor first if you take beta blockers, diuretics or other blood pressure medication. Never use after drinking alcohol. Never leave children unsupervised near a plunge — all Core Wellness plunges ship with a child-locking insulated lid.
It inflates from a single external valve, has inflatable carry handles, and packs down into a bag with a repair kit and mat included. Set it up on a balcony, take it to a training camp, put it away when visitors come.
It is chiller-ready. Run a Core Chiller to it and the water sits at a set temperature every morning, anywhere from 3°C to 40°C — the same unit heats as well as cools. That is a different product from a tub you dump ice into, where you pay for bagged ice daily and never hit the same temperature twice.
Dual drainage: an inner and outer drain that must both be opened to empty, a deliberate safeguard against a hose knock dumping 400 litres across a deck.

What the research says
Evidence rating: plausible. Cold water immersion is widely used in athletic recovery and is associated with reduced perceived muscle soreness after training. Evidence on strength and hypertrophy adaptation is mixed, and some trials suggest immersion immediately after resistance training may blunt adaptation — so timing matters.
Warranty and returns
Covered by a 12-month factory warranty. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply in addition to this and are not limited by it. Parts and service are handled locally by Core Energy.
