Most home saunas are sold on how many people fit. The Alcove is sold on where it fits. At 1350 mm diameter and 2100 mm tall it slots into a bathroom corner, against a garage wall, or into the end of a spare room — spaces that rule out every rectangular cabin on the market.

Before you buy — safety

Heat and cold immersion are not suitable for everyone. Do not use if you have a cardiac condition, uncontrolled blood pressure, a seizure history, a respiratory condition, or are pregnant. Check with your doctor first if you take beta blockers, diuretics or other blood pressure medication. Never use after drinking alcohol. Never leave children unsupervised near a plunge — all Core Wellness plunges ship with a child-locking insulated lid.

The layout is the clever part. Two crescent-shaped benches curve along either side with the heater mounted centrally between them, which means both seats sit at the same distance from the stones. In a small rectangular cabin one person always gets the hot seat. Here nobody does.

Canadian spliced red cedar throughout, inside and out. We build every cabin in one timber rather than running a cheap tier — the timber that ages in front of you is the same timber holding the heat in. Full tempered glass door on three stainless hinges, wooden handle, stainless exhaust port above the heater, and anti-slip high-temperature flooring in wide boards. Stainless banding top and bottom holds the staves under adjustable tension — as the timber moves with the seasons, you tighten the bands rather than replace panels.

Factory-direct, not drop-shipped. Cabins and plunges come from a 25,000 m² manufacturer with 260 staff and seven dedicated production lines. We buy the container, so you get the factory price without the factory lead time.

Supplied without a heater

This cabin is supplied without a heater. A licensed Core Energy electrician supplies and fits an Australian-approved heater and issues a Certificate of Compliance for the circuit. The heater and installation are quoted separately — ask us for a quote with your postcode and a photo of your switchboard.

Who installs it

Core Wellness sits inside Core Solutions / Core Energy, a licensed electrical contracting business. Your heater is hard-wired by a licensed electrician who issues a Certificate of Compliance for the circuit. We are the people who install it, not an overseas seller with an email address.

What the research says

Evidence rating: strong (observational). Regular dry sauna use is associated with cardiovascular benefits in long-term Finnish population studies. These are observational cohorts, so association isn't causation — but the relationship is consistent and the effect sizes are large. We leave out claims we cannot support.

Warranty and returns

Covered by a 12-month factory warranty. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply in addition to this and are not limited by it. Parts and service are handled locally by Core Energy.
